PDX Food News Mio Gelato Celebrates 4th Anniversary with $1 Gelato Scoops and Seasonal Oregon

Mio Gelato’s summer fruit flavors have become a seasonal rite of passage for ice cream lovers. Not only is the fruit locally sourced, but chef and founder, Bob Lightman makes each batch of gelato by hand daily. Mio Gelato will celebrate its 4th anniversary on Thursday, July 12th with $1 gelato scoops available at all three Portland locations. Seasonal and local fruit flavors available throughout the summer include green apple, peach, nectarine, red plum, apricot, strawberry, marionberry, black raspberry and raspberry.
Summer Snacking
Mio Gelato serves home-made Italian panini sandwiches, rustic soups and seasonal salads, as well as a selection of espresso drinks made with Illy coffee.

Sopresatta, a spicy salami with tomatoes, arugula, and fontina
Caprese with tomatoes, basil and mozzarella
Homemade Soup:
Zuppa del Giorno Pappa al Pomodoro, Tuscan tomato and bread soup.
Minestrone di Romagna, Vegetable soup with cannelloni beans, tomato, celery, carrots & parsley
Salads
Orzo Salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion and a light vinaigrette served on a bed of mixed greens.
Fresh mixed seasonal greens with balsamic vinaigrette.
